MORE NURSERY SALE INFORMATION & PHOTOS

Dear Rose Gardener,

Welcome to our "own-root" rose catalogue! We propagate and grow roses on their own roots, mostly from our own mother plant collection. We prefer this method, as opposed to bud grafting, because we find the plants are more vigorous, long-lived, free of alien suckers, and able to return as themselves after a hard freeze.

We sell our roses from our nursery, through select nurseries and garden centres in B. C. in spring and by "mail" order - through this catalogue and an up-to-date availability list we can e-mail, fax or mail to you ($2.00). Sorry, we ship to Canada only.

Please visit our feature on this website, our"New Introductions". For planting and pruning info, rose care tips, etc. please see Rose News. We hope to update these pages frequently. Our roses are listed Alphabetically in our current availability list and in our "Rose Catalogue", under the several rose groupings. Roses which are on sale will be noted both in the 'Availability List' and in our online 'Rose Catalogue'.

Although we live on Hornby Island in the Georgia Strait in British Columbia, we can ship roses to any province in Canada by bus, express post or courier. We begin spring shipping in early April.
(We do not ship to the States.)

We feature classic old roses, especially rambling and climbing roses, as we find these the most vigorous and disease free (and fragrant). As well we are licensed propagators and growers of the newer super-fragrant David Austin English Roses. Because we live in an area of high humidity and rainy periods, we are able to select those varieties which seem especially resistant to blackspot and powdery mildew. We also grow and sell many unusual varieties and offer a good selection of the favourite old-fashioned or antique old garden roses (OGR's): the gallicas, damasks, albas, centifolias, mosses, etc. As well, we are constantly increasing our collection of long blooming healthy shrub and climbing roses such as the hybrid musks, floribundas and the hardy rugosa and Canadian Explorer roses.

We hope you will find our web site catalogue informative and useful in selecting the older fragrant disease-free, easy-care roses or the more modern disease-resistant Ionger-blooming varieties. (With truly "classic" roses we tolerate a few spots if the rose is otherwise vigorous, once planted in a BIG hole, in a humus-rich soil mix, and with ample water, especially in the first year.)

lf you wish to order any of the roses listed on the following pages, please use the printable Order Form in How to Order. The roses listed in group lists that follow are available at the time of listing. We sell out of varieties throughout the season so please mail your order in as soon as possible along with a check or money order. (Please include substitutes wherever you can.) Sorry, we do not accept credit cards.

Thanks and happy rose gardening!
