"Rose
de Rescht" |
The
Damask rose, another old rose class, is extremely fragrant and disease
resistant. Originating in the Middle East, the Summer Damask is said to
be a Gallica x R. phoenicia hybrid and blooms only once, in summer,
while the Autumn Damask, a R. gallica x R. moschata hybrid will
bloom a second time, in autumn. Richly scented, Damask roses are slightly
less hardy than the Gallicas. (hardy to zone 5).
Our favourites:
Ispahan, Leda, Mme. Hardy and Rose de Rescht. (All are hardy to zone
4.)
Roses
are available while quantities last. Varieties marked
as 'sold out' may be available again next year. Remember to order early.
Our prices may vary from season to season depending on the plant size. See
the bottom of this list for Key.
Varieties marked as 'N/A' will not be available for 2008
