Pimpinellifolia
Descendants of
the early Scotch roses, the Pimpinellifolias, and their more recent
hybrids, are shrub roses with characteristic small leaves. While most
bloom only in summer, some are recurrent bloomers. Our favourite,
Stanwell Perpetual, has fragrant double white flowers and continues
to bloom all summer. Generally quite hardy, members of this family
were used by Kordes of Germany to create Fruhlingsgold, Fruhlingsduft
and other lovely graceful and cold-tolerant garden roses.
Roses
are available while quantities last. Varieties marked
as 'sold out' may be available again next year. Remember to order early.
More varieties will be available by summer.
Our prices may vary from season to season depending on the plant size. See
the bottom of this list for Key.
Varieties marked as 'N/A' will not be available for 2010

Hint: Roses bloom best with a minimum of six hours of sunshine
a day, even if they are considered shade or filtered-light tolerant.
English roses especially like lots of sunshine to bloom well.
